In the threaded tinkle bell
I caught sight of snail shell
And whispered to the butterfly
That elephant remembers why
The hungry beetle never stops
Even as rain starts to drop
On this secret garden scene
Gentle moss and grass so green
I grab your hand and climb the tree
To our kissing place to see
If you'll put your lips to mine
Before night steals our precious time

This is lovely, especially this line:
'That elephant remembers why'
but I think proper punctuation would improve the reading of it.

"I SHALL punctuate properly!" Promised the Parson of Penang, but then he went to vegitate before he got the hang.

I seem to be turning into the spelling and punctuation witch of the site. It is a role in which I feel entirely comfortable, since I am simply an English teacher masquerading as a poet. Ah well...
