You left your taste

from the ABC set PERFORMANCE POEMS

You took your sounds of jazz and soul
Your posters of Picasso and Wohol
Gone with the wind your incense and fragrance
You blew the scene with your charm, your elegance

You've taken your books from A to Z
Your poetry philosophy all that you've read
You packed up your life in boxes and cases
Your collections of trinkets from a thousand places

You made your exit in your famous style
With your head held high and a curious smile
You drove away in your jaguar
With it's built in ice box and cocktail bar

You left this barbarian in an ignorant state
You left this heathen to an uncertain fate
Oh you forgot nothing in all your haste
But darling sweet darling
You left your taste
