Nightfall

Just before nightfall
I think of you
of your plum chapstick lips
of your almond hazel eyes
of the warm spot beneath your neck
of the curvy nature of your hips
I think of you
before we even knew
how it was to love

how it was to love

And thinking of you
the sandman comes
to cast his spell
my eyes are closed
I think of you in dreams
just after nightfall

"I think of you
before we even knew
how it was to love"

- these lines are so poignant, and the whole poem has a quiet, beautiful approach to love. A wonderful read!

Magic, I think you are right. It is the heart of the poem. Could have been simply that, the rest, now it seems, like excess luggage. LOL.

I agree with Magic, Daniel, it has an ethereal charm about it. Enjoyed;-)

Thank you Tina, ethereal charm is good. I think most of my poems have this, at least searched for, silent quality.

Very nice tone, Daniel, and romantically sweet. Much enjoyed.
