My advice is simply to watch.
To give room to cry
to shout
to scream
and
to tear things apart
or
to become a furious hurricane
a great wave sweeping appliances and whatnot.
Once that is done
move
say a word.
Not that movement or words were needed
but
open arms
a gentle hug
the drying of teardrops
or
spelling out: ‘I LOVE YOU’
are just enough to soothe
sometimes.
