I’ve no wool to pull
Over your eyes
There’s no secrets to hide
Or faults to disguise
I’ve not any regrets
Of which I won’t speak
I’m empty, devoid
Of the darkness you seek
Open my cupboard
Check under my bed
There’s no skeletons there
Nor in my attic or shed
My past is not littered
With grim indiscretions
Nor is it tainted
With buried obsessions
I’m as you see me
Not pure yet used well
Look all you want
But there is nothing to tell

Lovely rhythm in this one, Mark and a great play on old sayings, especially:
'Open my cupboard
Check under my bed
There’s no skeletons there
Nor in my attic or shed'

Magic, I'm nothing if not a fan of hoary old chestnuts. Glad you liked this and thanks for commenting too.

A really good flow to this one Mark, as Magic said - great play on old sayings. I wish it could have been longer. Keep them coming. Steve

Steve, thanks very much, mate. Been a bit busy lately with a few other projects but hope to get back to regular writing soon.
