You gave me no choice.
She had to go.
While she remained
I’d always be a shadow,
Something you’d pass
Without ever really seeing.
If I’m a shadow then
I can’t be held responsible
For the things I do.
So, if the black calls her
And she simply disappears,
It’s not my fault.
You gave me no choice.
She stole you from me,
Lied and cheated her way
Into your life,
Before I had a chance
To rescue you.
If she is a thief
Then I can’t be blamed
For catching her out,
Cutting her rope
And letting her fall away
Into her just rewards.
You gave me no choice.
I’m in such a state.
But I forgive you.
So, remember my dear,
If I can’t have you
Then no one will.

Thanks for putting the link up Tony. I put it in the teaser but then realised later I should have put it in the main body. Oops...
Hilary, I told you your story was inspiring. I hope my poem did it justice.
