Athens.

from the ABC set Anonyme's inglorious return to poetry

Climb onto the tour bus.
Your ears are porous,
Breathing with anticipation for what you might learn,
You seek education?
Okay...

Look down, see the poverty
View the heavy contrast
As the peasants clench fists, stare up at the rich minority
And in this city, hurts hold no constant but for the bladders of the majority who long to piss on the minority

Screw the authority!
Uninhibited Emotions bleed from the cracks in the buildings,
The oil this city relies on, it's life force, it's built in
Built upon the shoulder's of the ones that it's killing

I've seen aids on the streets
And needles shared for municipal feeding
The streets are a pool of uncontrolled breeding
As the stupid birds search for seeds of compassion
Perhaps they'll get an easy meal; tourists munch on whatever's in fashion

Impassioned by outright immersion in darkness
Concentrated perversion

Ambient youth, grab your baseball caps and your overhead wraps
'Screw the cops', your minds crap
You’re not petty thieves
Ego’s heave at a chance to be bad,
Girl’s display menstrual indications that they want to be had,
They’re not their mothers children,
What they have now is what they conceived,
What they believe
And the streets are extended sewers for them,
Indeed they smell like a brewery,
Alleyways dark and long, they’re filled with warm piss, interlinked and sewery.

So tourist's look on... All surly,
They’re tired, they woke up too early
They fail to imagine more than their white and grey reality;
Fail to glimpse at the problems emerging
The black and white converging.

I'll end my tour here, thank you for travelling, virgin...
