Fake

from the ABC set Something to think about...

All these days
I’ve walked without happiness
No pleasure on a scale that’s hard to measure
Then I suddenly pick up
Life’s like that
An interesting mix up

I never really chose to be a pessimist but anyone can see what this world is
The happiness that surrounds us is nothing more than a thin mist

When I look at life I see a dove falling
Plummeting from up there
The hopelessness’ enthralling

Every damn thing is an illusion!
In my life fake things are allowed too much intrusion
Fake personalities
Fake faces
Fake protectors
Fake bodies
But then when you think about it all life could be fake
Just a dream
A nightmare in the wake

And in the end I wonder if I should bother even to care
In this fake world worrying brings loss of hair
In this world entering your mind brings forth insanity
Free thought depravity
But then again what’s sane?
An ideal mindset?
What a pain

Since when was the world even the definition of the concept of sane anyway?
Atom bombs
Fast cars
Jet planes
Telescopes spying on Jupiter and mars
In the end
After careful thought
This world actually defines insane

Ha-ha
Now you’re thinking:
“Ephraim Luwemba
What a pain!
This boy
He’s stupendously insane!”

But my friend
I’m not
And I’ll tell you this:
As far as I’m concerned
My life
Your life
We don’t exist

Because
In essence
This world is fake
And the more you grasp that concept
The more of life you’ll make
