Mama, I've got the blues.

Mama, I got the blues
In every open space and crowded corner, I got the blues
I got a ruptured heart and a soul wit’ no shoes
Mama, I got the blues
I can’t move on because I got the blues
Every second is an eternal lapse of depression
I didn’t ever get to choose
I got thrown into this ordeal with no concession
Now my cares are all in recession
Mama, I got the blues
I got borderline dejection
Gloom and sadness
Depression
Got and invitation to the hospital, they say:
‘Loony house in session’
Because, Mama, I got the blues:
I got the weight of the world on my shoulders
I got the weight of all earthly entities:
Volcanoes and boulders
The mass of feelings for all the time that I hold her,
A large weight for a man with no shoulders
Mama, these blues are disturbing my existence,
They’re just grasping me in places with over persistence
It’s like every thought I had is shrouded in faces… Or, one face;
Sometimes I wish we’d swap places
Sometimes I wish we’d trade paces
Because, Mama, I got the blues
A life with one cause
A soul with no shoes
A face with one emotion
A heart that can’t choose
Mama,
I got the blues
