Into the Blue

from the ABC set

A cruel, white, yet blue-ish desert;
home of the burning cold.
Inside the canvas,
it is merely freezing
the marrow until
our bones split.

I will not end as Evans did;
as a glacial blue
waterfall's footnote.
Did we come so far
to falter on
this wasting land?

It is time, I will take a mad march
into the cerulean blue.
Outside the canvas
I am merely freezing
my sacrifice
into history.

Funny, whenever I say I'm going outside, people just ask me to take the rubbish out, or mend the garden or paint the drive. It's so hard to be a hero these days.

They ask me if I'll be long. When I say no; they groan...:(
