The blues took drugs and
did the vo-di-oh-doh,
while ragtime lasted,
and gave birth to its squealing bastard, jazz.

You're blue, drink shorts, go
take the little pill down
to rocky bottom
and give voice to those dirty, rotten, blues.

So blue is way cool,
takes the wang-dang-doodle
and crawling king snake,
and turns those dirty, muddy, waters – black.
