Butterflies

from the ABC set Lovers, Liars and Just Good Friends.

What is it between us?
I can't say any more
than you. We couldn't write
enough to begin a
definition.

I hope you feel it
too. Deep, in some dark
inaccessibility.

It is there around us,
beside and betwixt:
before, and after.
Does it matter though?
How we speak it aloud?
Might as well try and
catch a spark in thumb
and index finger.

Might as well kiss butterflies.

There is nothing arch or contrived about this, so not a "blurt" as you put it, quite lovely I think :-) Thanks for sharing L

yep - chasing and catching butterflies is naff and silly, but if one quietly stretches out a hand, wonderful if they land...blurt my toosh, nice one Ewan :)

Extraordinary feelings captured in words brilliantly.

(If you could catch it, define it, have it, it wouldn't be the same...)
