Toddy Todd and I ate seventeen Milky Ways each
at school on the quadrangle in the afternoon break
- we weren't hungry at teatime.
Toddy Todd's mum was out and we washed a big, big carpet
- but there was no 1001 in the house - so we spent
less than half a crown on Fairy.
The carpet wasn't clean but Toddy said our hands would be
soft as our face. Toddy's mum banned him from watching telly
for the best part of a fortnight.
I gave Toddy Todd a Senior Service behind the chemy
lab, it made him sick, but no one saw us and he said good
job it wasn't one of dad's Strands.
Toddy Todd dared me to ask for two Guinness in the Half Moon,
and it didn't taste good for you after all - especially
when PC Morgan came in the pub too.
Toddy Todd's big sister and I tried the taste of Martini
on the settee when everyone was out. She worked
out of Gatwick and her name was Mandy.

When the price of 1001 went up they kept the same ad. and changed the jingle to 'in less than half an hour'. Early recycling!

Mandy wasn't by any chance having it off with a captain at Dan Air?

Good God! Dan Dare, I used to fly with them to Teesside Airport from (West) Berlin via Amsterdam when the Wall was up; perhaps Mandy and the Captain were disturbing the trim of the aircraft. It was always a bumpy ride!

I used to fly Mekon Air to the Mekong Delta. No aeroplanes, you each got your own little flying cushion. So cute!
