New Songs

from the ABC set

The evening says 'I hunger for shade'.
The moon declares ' I thirst for stars'.
The crystal spring pleads for lips,
and the wind sighs.

I am thirsty for scents and laughter,
parched for new and different songs,
songs without moons and lilies,
songs without dead and dying loves.

A morning song to move
the stagnant waters of the future
and fill the waves and ripples
with hope.

A luminous and peaceful song,
meditative and unblemished
by sadness and fears:
immaculate in dreams.

A song without poetry's flesh
filling the silence with laughter
(a flock of blind birds flung
into the mystic).

A song that goes to the heart of things,
to the soul of the winds
and comes to rest at last
in the happiness of the constant heart.

if simple songs are poetry's flesh too -that last verse is a cool breeze - lovely :)
