Performance Poet

from the ABC set

If you don't mind,
there's something I've got to say.
I get miffed about
people who always want their way.
At least, I find,
it difficult not to tut,
after they've had it and I'm last
in the queue again.

I clench my fists
when someone says I'm wronger
than marmite with jam.
I could scarcely feel stronger
about apostrophes
and wrote a letter once
- but the Sunday Telegraph
didn't publish it.

You can tell though,
when I'm really, really mad
- although it's got
to be something terribly bad -
you've guessed I think,
I write it down
and perform it in Hampstead as
a polite slam/jam.

'I clench my fists

than marmite with jam.'

These lines are great and I love the ending. Enjoyed. Well done.

Nathan.

This is the kind of passion we need.
