R is for...

from the ABC set

All those years, fibre into precious metals
- the smell of shit obscured by rose-tinted petals.
Had we but sooner guessed his name,
put an end to the eternal game,
the bubble blowing,
growing impossibly, ludicrously vast.
Blast! Such a big balloon must
burst with a sound heard all over the world.

Look at Rumpelstiltskin run;
the King has learned dwarvish
for 'recession'.

hmm...alchemy and fairytales, a rich mix, Rumpelstiltskin doing a runner is a fun analogy for recession, and the first verse is great - as she does guess his name (interesting that he gets stuck in the mud when she does) howsabout adding 'sooner' -'If we had only sooner guessed his name' - enjoyed your bubble has burst poem :)
