Two Cheers

from the ABC set

A change has done come, friend.
We got us a beginning of the end.
We gotta steak in the pork-barrel now,
an African-'Merican, brothers, and how!
Our man married a Chi-town gal
got two kids - smiles like your best pal.
'Course I guess he don' know much about Watts
- or bloods and colors and the sound of gunshots.
But hell, so what if he half-a-Cawcajun?
He ain't whitey, bro, and that's amazin'.

I'm still in shock. I thought right up until the end, McCain would cheat his way through, like Bush. I saw a picture where they'd painted Barak up like a white man, and he looks just like Arnold Swartznegger's (sp?) less butch little brother. The resemblance is amazing.

Back to your poem, well said. I bet your words are echoing there as I type...
