I am a pebble in a stream...
Gently I fall to the bottom
Through clear water
I drift left and right
heavy in my descent
Mishapen , with a slight edge.
I reach the bottom
And the cool stream ripples over me
I go with the flow
Tumbling , rolling along
Strong , yet helpless.
I pass rocks and plants
Anchored to their cause
Briefly I get caught in the weeds
But the flow of water is steady and forceful
And knowingly...
I am moved on my way
My path is uncertain,
Fight is futile , destiny unsure
I turn corners carved
By the stream's pre- determined course
My edges slowly smooth
As my journey continues
Age softens me
My edges round slightly with experience
Though tired
I am protected & guided along
through the rain and storms
Neither I nor the stream
know our final destination
We are experienced travellers
Every twist and turn
Has a surprise within ...
All is new and exciting
I am happy with my course
free yet trapped
by destiny
my fluid companion...
I am a pebble in this life

Well done, a journey of adventure, yet thankful for its success. Did you mean to place 'a' before pebble in your first line? Keep up the good work. Richard LP

Hello Firebird, I liked this too.
ps In the fifth line, it's descent, not decent

This one has some really great lines Firebird! I especially love:
'Age softens me
My edges round slightly with experience'
and
'I pass rocks and plants
Anchored to their cause
Briefly I get caught in the weeds
But the flow of water is steady and forceful'
Well done :)
