"A Dream"

from the ABC set Love poems

Strolling down the road
That lonely summer day
My hands carried roses
In velvet flow'r bouquet

I walked past, still grieving she
Of thought on why she's sad
So I gave her these flowers
While giving this I said,

"Oh arth thou love's beauty
Which came down from the sky
Where gods with feather roses
Lay round thy faithful eye"

The moment was of special
O! She smiled at me and said
"If only I have a guy like you
My heart won't have had bled"

As close as we had nearly kissed
I snapped back into waking
Stopped dead the ringing beating clock
That froze the scene, still dreaming?
