Loved that song, Pia;-)
Janis Joplin - one of the many who die 'too soon'; only in her mid-twenties, I believe...way back in 1970, I think. A tragic loss.
This poem is a fitting tribute to her life, which I enjoyed reading very much, and I wish you every success in the competition. A more than worthy entry.

she was another of the 27 club Tina- Janis Joplin was only 27 (like Amy Winehouse, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and others later ) when she died. Truly a legend of Rock.

Wonderful tribute Pia,
like you said, she had 'nothing to loose,' she
probably did more in her short life, than we
do in a lifetime, so like you said 'Freedom' is
a word she went with.
I love this poem, because you have shown no fear
in taking life by the hand and going with it.
