from the ABC set Window Box

She wrapped the mink
Round pinky shoulders,
Her spangling gown
Out on the town.
And he in turn,
Would never spurn
Those money things
They both had earned.
Whisking off
In some Mercedes
To some rich heaven
Or even Hades
They never cared
For tomorrow
Just enjoyed
The time they'd borrow.
Always joyous
In their conviction
Their luxury lifestyle
Like true fiction
Like the heroes
Of some book
Never wanting
To be let off the hook
The hook of plenty
Which never ceased
And gave them all
A life uncreased.
Smart forever
Or so it seemed
Would Christ, you think
Their souls redeem ?

Seems like a comment on celebrity culture. I like the way the short lines carry it along at a cracking pace, like the one the characters seem to live at.
