Ida eyed me up one day,
But in a hurry I didn't stay.
Christmas came and a card she sent,
I really wondered what she meant.
Six geese a-laying, the card it did depict,
Now my feelings were quite mixed !
I should cocoa, was my thought,
Her ideas were not sought.
So I thought I will stay single,
But a card of a starry dingle ?
No, I thought, the singular me,
Can only be a partridge in a pear tree !

A shacky little twister with saucy overtones.

Thanks for your comment Valerian. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
