She doesn't see the pretty everyone proclaims her with.
She doesn't see what they explain they see.
Instead when she looks in the mirror she sees someone who's too big, too fat, and not skinny enough.
She sees someone she doesn't want to see, someone she doesn't really have the guts to face.
She wants nothing to do with this girl that looks back at her.
She simply wants that girl gone.
So she tries, she tries hard for that girl to be gone, however she doesn't try hard enough.
For that girl haunts her every waking hour, drowning her in her own misery.
And she has nothing left as she cries at the pearl, white toilet.
Why isn't it working? Is her question...
Why don't you see your own beauty? Is her friend's question, but she has an answer, an answer that never fails.

I have some sympathy with this girl, but maybe she should be less preoccupied with herself and spend more time and effort encouraging others?

Your right, but some people have problems with themself, making it as to were they can't encouraging other, because they can't even encourage themself.
Just to make it clear, this story was not wrote about me, but a close friend.
