Sunken Galleons

Imagine a fleet of sunken galleons stretching along the bottom of the ocean as far as the eye can see. Each galleon is loaded with diamonds. You've heard about this sunken fleet for seventy years and one day, you locate it and it's accessible. You alone know of its location, existence and accessibility. You have only a certain amount of air to roam through the precious shipyard and gather the infinite jewels that you find. You recover as many as you can bring to the surface on each dive. This image describes the delirious joy of discovering an unlimited imagination and the tools to articulate that imagination. It becomes our duty as well as our pleasure and obsession to explore that imagination and do all that we can to bring it to the surface. We are writers and this is our job. Particularly in times of quarantine when we are in our homes, in our dens, on our keyboards diving, retrieving and sharing before we run out of air. We know that we will run out of air before the galleons run out of riches so we do what we can do while we can do it and we rejoice with every breath, thankful for the time axs well as the opportunity to realize the purpose of our good fortune.

A really lovely image, and
A really lovely image, and something to remind ourselves of when sitting feeling sorry for ourselves because inspiration seems to have taken a hike. It's all in there, if we keep looking.
