Friends Forever

What I am
I am their backbone
The wall of strength they take for granted
The leader they want to follow
Their pride,
And I'm cracking open wide
I am their well
I keep all their secrets
Sorrows and pains,
Love and complaints
And I'm cracking through the paint
I am their listening ear
That wants to hear
That gives replies
That never dies
And I'm turning deaf
I am their mirror
I offer truth
I give advice
I tell no lies
But I'm cracking and covered in dust
I am their ground
They step on me
They wipe their shit
And expect nothing in return
But I'm getting heated and I'll burn their feet
I am their friend
The one they talk to
Won't listen to or comprehend
One that they'll break
And cannot mend
One that they will expect to last till the end
But what they don't know is that I'm not even dying
But already dead.
