Altersex (8th Dec 2008, 9.56pm)

You peel back the satin dress,
murmuring your dissent,
far-cry from the leather and lace

You murmur at the alterations,
etchings of artistic hands,

concerned, nothing to hide;
I’ve burned my innocence
in years of wasted cigarettes
and now I shake my head at your
addiction, bending to let you
caress my saddened breasts;

and as we trace the lines inside
these borrowed sheets,
rise and fall with tides and time,
I’m not here with you at all;
I’m imagining, closed-eyed,
summer rain on nakedness
the way we used to…

Thank you! Gosh, I'd forgotten this one - bit steamy, isn't it?! Thank you for bringing it back to my consciousness!

I really love this Jennifer. It may be old, but it's wonderful.
