Three is the number

from the ABC set Out of my Head (Autumn 2008)

Three is the number (11th November, 2008 3.41pm)

Three is the number,
the Charmed number,
it’s the Holy Trinity;
God the Father, the Son
and the Ghostly Deity;
three is comfortable,
except on first dates;
three is the most fun
I ever had with my mates;
three is complex when
the bed is only double;
three is difficult to handle;
three spells trouble;
but don’t let me burst
your shiny triple bubble;
three is triangular,
three makes me seethe:
three priced as two
in the Co-Op, when
it’s only one I need;
three is the times table
I found the easiest;
three is the times you have
to turn down the sleaziest;
three are the Musketeers,
until there were four; whoops!
A spare who looks like
D’Artagnan can’t be a chore.
Three steps on, two steps back;
three is the magic trick
that hooks you with its slack;
three are the Angels…
Charlie, why weren’t there more,
with all the fights and baddies
making your girlies sore?
Bosley could handle ‘em,
I’m sure it wouldn’t be a chore!
I guess three is the best,
three is laid out in the rules,
and those that are greedy,
posting seven, six, five, or four
(I thought I counted eleven,
but I think it could be more)
are those that are needy,
little, innumerate fools.

That's telling 'em Girl! I thoroughly agree, why don't they ever read the rules or perhaps they do and ignore them just because. Can you get this angry face to face Jen or is it all on paper? I'd love to see you in full flow! Wow! :) Val x

'innumerate' fools, or endings possible to this poem, A Bosley, John Bosley or D'Artagnan, an extra Musketeer, or something, might be fun to include -'and those that are greedy, needing six, five, or four......' if you ever fancied reworking the ending of the poem! :Oo

And now they get told the maximum of three rule in their joining email! Not many do it twice.

But do they ever do it three times?

Am giggling because I checked back and there were three comments! Hilarious! Ran this off in a hurry because I wanted to make a point, having logged in to find someone posting reams and reams!

Will try and rework with added Musketeers!

There we go, suggestions for improvement worked in!

I am rarely this angry face to face; I usually contain it and then it comes out in poetic form at a later date!

Imagine if I started ranting out loud in poetry at them right there and then!
