So many lyrics that I know
so many 'innuendos'. Fast or slow
I play with them, I change their tune;
they try to hurt me, I rest immune.
Lyrics sometimes are hard to bare;
they pierce your mind,they even stare
deep in your thoughts looking for signs
that it's OK to change some lines.
But while I sing these songs I keep
the lyrics tuned under my lips;
manipulating all their words
leading them down the path of chords.
I like to play with them, I joke;
changing my mind I probe and poke.
I push them left, I push them right,
I make them scream or shut them tight.
Lyrics are great if you can sing
beware if not, they bite and sting;
concealing wrath under a phrase,
hiding behind a friendly face.
I've seen the harm that lyrics do,
when not played right, the words so true,
become thick lies; the sound so fake,
That it's a trip too hard to take.
So many lyrics that I know;
so many phases, times in tow.
I sing along...Oh! I can laugh !
