Big brother

Paint your door a sombre green
Wear wellies in the rain
Floral dresses in the summer
Never vent
Or show disdain
Keep your gardens
Mowed and tidy
Eat veg five times a day
Don't smoke or overdo to often
Or they'll take
Your NHS away
Ever think big brother
Is creeping up on you?
Do you slink into a pigeonhole
Mingle in with cultures stew
Are you box-friendly by nature?
Or a contortionist
Aiming to please
Do you stand firmly on the written line
Or zigzag
Despondent
On your knees
How long before we wear the same
Is fashion actually making sense?
Or are we straddling the apex
Of an ever-prickly fence
I reckon cctv will be set up
In everyone's abode
No more choices to be made
One life, one rule , one road
Stopped and fined for roller-skating
Uphill with a fridge in tow
Charged for lack of coal
And malformed carrot
As you form clones
In strictly measured snow
Scolded for extra offspring
Chide if you dare to wear
Mid blue
And finally exported
Should you
Transpire
'The' divergent few
A nation run by life police
Where conformity is king
If you base-jump, less consent
Then you provide the cast and sling
Where choice is but a memory
And if you don't conform
You're through
Where quadrangles are
Designed or shaved
And dictionaries exclude
You!
