Alone behind boxes of lego
Dips the smile of a
tatty old bear
His gaze wanders
To soft woollen blankets
And
sweet recollections
Of Emily's care
No more will he lie next to Emily
Cuddled and warm in her arms
Sharing dreams of lush meadow
And lollypop valleys
His fur
faded as ever his charms
His seams have long
tussled times calling
His ears have long countered
affray
Emily's children have bright wooden-puppets
As old bear is to precious to play
