The Musician that Woke up her Soul

from the ABC set Of Oak Trees and Anorexia

For her
He was everything. He was the musician
That woke up her soul. It was
His
Fingers on the strings, that pulled her head up,
Let her dance for the first time in years.

It was him that let her run in the rain
Hair streaming
Clothes clinging to her
Slender frame
Chasing the sound of his laughter.

His voice was the one
That tugged at her lips
Pulled them skywards, in search
Of light
Space
Empty air.
It was his words that taught her to accept
What she could not change.

And to change what she could.

It was his frown, his pause
That made her
See again
Herself
See what she could be
If only she could try

His hand on her waist
Was the lifeline
That brought her back from the waves that
Threatened
To suck away her smile.
