What now O Day Star?

A little poem very loosely based on Isaiah 14:3-20

What now O Day Star, Son Of Dawn?
Your servants soon to curse that they were born!
Your priests distracted, nervous, full of fear.
The trees rejoice to see thy end is near!

Your power draining you become as we.
No harps and songs of praise remain for thee.
The ghosts of your treachery arise to haunt.
The voices of your enemies unite to taunt.

What now O Day Star, Lord of Fools?
Where now your gifts of imitation jewels?
Your cold logic filled the hearts of men.
Yet now the sun returns to shine again.

What now O Day Star with the rising of the sun?
Show us now your brilliance and dazzle everyone!
Where now is your hubris, arrogance and pride?
The pit will be opened and soon you'll be inside.

What now for your priests who have misled in their pride?
What now for the clever when all see that they have lied?
What now for the greedy who have stolen from the good?
What now for the leaders who drank the people’s blood?
