Radio Caroline
By Paul McCann
Radio Caroline you were just so fine,
a pirate radio station back in time .
like sunshine on the airwaves
from up above ,
you filled our head with
the music that we loved .
Tambourine Man ,
All Right Now ,
Ride A White Swan ,
if You’re Going To San Francisco
Get It On
Hippy Hippy Shake
Baby you’re out of time ,
You Can’t do that ,
Pins And Needles
I feel fine .
You were different
to the rest on the air ,
Radio Caroline , you were mine .
So rare , so good , so fine .
You played songs for our time .
I miss you still sweet Radio Caroline .
You were voice that we heard
transmitting free ,
a star in the night ,
shinning for all to see .
You showed a new way
with music as a guide ,
all of us when along
enjoying the ride .
The times we spend together
were just divine .
Thank’s for what you did .
Radio Caroline .

Another wonderful memory
Another wonderful memory jerker Paul.
I have fond memories of sitting on the wall outside our cottage with a friend, small transistor radios held to the ear, because the volumn wasn't that good listening to radio Caroline.
The sounds of the 60s was the best, and I just adore the music you put down in your poem.
Thank you for reminding me of some of the best times.
Jenny.
