Outer Space Oliver

“This is Mission Control….. T-minus 10 seconds. 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1….. We have lift off!”
Oliver felt the thrust of the rockets as they lit up and blew him into space. He could feel his body become all squashed inside his spacesuit as he sped off into the great, big, dark, nothing known as outer space.
“Mission control to General Oliver, come in.”
“This is General Oliver,” he said as he started pushing the flashing buttons and turning all the sparkling dials in front of him.
“General Oliver, proceed with Plan X.”
“Roger Mission Control, I’m on my way to planet Glegnelster.”
Oliver unbuckled his seat belt which was something he just learned to do in his mommy’s car. (She would tell him not to though.) Suddenly, Oliver was floating up, up, up until his head touched the ceiling.
“Look how high up I am!” Oliver yelled with joy. “My big brother would never call me shrimpy if he saw me now.”
Oliver had a big smile on his face as he floated over to the wall where he saw a sign that read “SNACKS”. He pushed the big orange button, and a big door opened. A tray, with six big chocolate chip cookies, and a glass of milk slid out and floated up to him. Oliver ate all the cookies, and was about to finish the milk when he heard a terrific noise. He floated down to his chair, and strapped himself in. He looked out the window and he saw it. The big yellow planet Glegnelster! He grabbed the steering wheel, and began to lower the ship to the planet below. When the ship touched down, he got out, and put a quarter in the meter just like his daddy would do when they went to the hardware store. Oliver looked around the hard, rocky landscape. He didn’t see a thing. He was all alone, or so he thought. Suddenly there was a terrible roar! The ground began to shake, and Oliver was knocked down onto the ground. He got up, dusted himself off, and rubbed his backside. It hurt! Out of nowhere, Oliver saw smoke and smelled the worst smell imaginable. The smell of LIMA BEANS! He knew what it was. It was the reason he had come to Glegnelster in the first place. It was the terrible LIMABEANIASAURUS REX! The most feared beast in the entire galaxy! The Limabeaniasaurus Rex was made out of big, green, slimy, smelly Lima beans. He was the terror of children throughout the galaxy, and Oliver’s job was to capture it for the galactic zoo back on Earth. The Limabeaniasaurus Rex just stared at Oliver with its horrid red eyes, and Oliver stared back with his blue ones. He was afraid but he didn’t want to monster to know. Oliver reached into his pocket, and pulled out a long rope with a loop at the end. He started to swing it around his head just like he saw on the cowboy movie on TV the other night. He aimed at the terrible beast and let it go.
Oliver thought he had caught the monster, but the Limabeaniasaurus Rex was not a stupid creature. It had caught the rope in its big, gaping, hot, 10,000 teeth inside of it, mouth, and started to suck it down like a piece of spaghetti. Oliver’s mouth fell open when he saw this. He couldn’t believe that the monster was eating the rope. Suddenly, Oliver noticed that he was moving. He forgot to let go of the rope, and the monster was pulling him closer. Oliver let go of the rope of the rope as quickly as he could, and the last piece of it slid into the deep, dark, throat of the monster that then smiled, and made a long, low, loud BUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRPPPPPPP!!!! Oliver reached into his pocket again and pulled out another rope, and a net. He swung the rope around his head, and with his other hand, he threw the net at the same time. This time luck was on General Oliver’s side. The rope went right around the beast’s neck as the net fell over it’s head. The Limabeaniasaurus Rex started to shriek and make a low wailing sound as it bucked and pulled. It was not happy about being captured. It started to swing its terrible head back and forth violently. Oliver held on for dear life with a determined look on his face. He was not going to let the horrid creature escape. Oliver dug his heels into the dirt and started to pull harder and harder, but the Limabeaniasaurus Rex was not making it easy. It started to pull Oliver closer and closer. Oliver could smell the terrible Lima bean breath of the great beast as he stared right into its face. Oliver tried not to show any fear, but the Limabeaniasaurus Rex was a frightening creature to say the least. The Limabeaniasaurus Rex gave one final tug, and Oliver fell over and landed with a thud. Oliver just looked up as the evil monster towered over him. It smiled showing all 10,000 of it’s big green teeth, and its big blue tongue slid over it’s scaly lips. Oliver was in a lot of trouble now. The Limabeaniasaurus Rex was planning on making him dinner! What was General Oliver going to do?
Oliver was too scared to think as he watched the monster pull the net off of its great body, and move slowly closer and closer still, when suddenly like a great big electric shock, Oliver remembered. HE HAD A SECRET WEAPON! It was a terrible weapon that he knew he shouldn’t use, but right now he had no choice. He didn’t want to become the dinner of the most dreaded beast in the galaxy. He dug into his pocket, and felt around for a moment, and then he found it. A small tube that looked very innocent, but was indeed very dangerous. He started to open it when the Limabeaniasaurus Rex started to move its head lower towards him. Oliver screamed and quickly unscrewed the top of the tube, and gave it one big squeeze. Suddenly, the Limabeaniasaurus Rex’s eyes started to water, and it made a gagging noise. Oliver quickly crawled out of the way as the monster started to wobble, and then it happened. The Limabeaniasaurus Rex fell down with a great, big, ear splitting, THUD! Oliver got up, dusted himself off, and looked down at the tube in his hand. It said in big red letters “BIG BROTHER’S SOCK SMELL”. Oliver smiled and put the tube back into his pocket. It was time to take the beast home now. He grabbed the rope that was still around its neck, and pulled the monster to the cargo hold of the ship. After he put the Limabeaniasaurus Rex securely into the special cage made for it, he strapped himself in, and prepared to take off towards Earth.
The ship slowly started to lift off the ground, and was headed back towards the blackness of space, when he heard a terrible crash in the back of the ship. He turned on the camera, and saw that the Limabeaniasaurus Rex had broken out of it’s cage, and began moving towards Oliver. He could smell the creature’s breath, when everything went black…….
Oliver awoke with a scream, and his parents, who were sitting on the couch, just stared at him with a puzzled look on their faces.
“Boy Daddy, that was a terrible dream I had.”
“Was it now?” his Daddy asked.
“Yes it was. Did it take off yet?”
“Yes Oliver, the space shuttle already took off, but you fell asleep and missed it.”
“DARN!” said Oliver.
“Time to go to bed now,” said his Daddy.
“But daddy….” Oliver whined.
“No buts,” said his Mommy, “you have to go to school tomorrow.”
And Oliver went up to bed, and slept, and slept, and slept.
