I try to care but
The air's too thick
Between us.
To me you died
So long ago, once
Friend now foe
I look on you
no mourning in my
heart no realization
in your addled mind
Once fierce and godlike
now a drooling empty
husk hooked on
batteries and memories
I try to care to be
the better one but
you're not there.
I wipe your chin
And softly close
the door behind me.

This is so poignant ... so strongly and yet so delicately put. A good poem.
