Writer's Block

from the ABC set Poetry

'This day is a whip and a crack!'
Tuts early Autumn
Lifting her flirty skirt
To show the fulsome wares
My eyes won't rise to meet.
'Look sharp sweet heart'
She snaps before
Stepping out and away
With a flounce,
The dismissive last toss of
Abundant auburn hair
Leaves me grimacing for want
Of company to plunder.
