The Flame

from the ABC set a moondance

Our love is alive, burning within
Our love is a flame, living within,
Our love is a glow raging within,

From a touch to desire
From a flush to a fever
A kiss to a fire,

Our love is a sigh crying inside,
Our love is a whisper, pleading inside
Our love is a longing screaming inside.

I can hear her heartbeat from a thousand miles
And the heavens open every time she smiles
And when I come to her that's where I belong
And I come running to her like a river's song

She give me love love love love crazy love
She give me love love love love crazy love

I need her in the daytime
And I need her in the night
And I want to throw my arms around her
Kiss and hug her kiss her hug her tight

This is a beautiful poem,
I do think the imagery in the last stanza can be improved, apart from that I love the simplicity

When we kiss my heart's on fire
Burning with a strange desire
And I know each time I kiss you
That your heart's on fire too

So my darling please surrender
All your love so warm and tender
Let me hold you in my arms dear
While the moon shines bright above

All the stars will tell the story
Of our love and all its glory
Let us take this night of magic
And make it a night of love

Won't you please surrender, to me
Your lips, your arms, your heart dear
Be mine forever
Be mine tonight

I found my thrill on Blueberry Hill
On Blueberry Hill where I found you
The moon stood still on Blueberry Hill
And lingered until my dreams came true

The wind in the willow played
Love's sweet melody
But all of the vows you made
Were never to be

Tho' we're apart you're part of me still
For you were my thrill on Blueberry Hill

Now I don't hardly know her
But I think I can love her
I've been waiting to show her
Crimson and Clover

My, my such a sweet thing
I want to do everything
What a beautiful feeling
Crimson and Clover

Crimson and Clover
Over and over
Crimson and Clover
Over and over ”

It is a song that was a great hit for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. This was early 80's. Kind of heavy rock music. She was presented to the youth as basically a self-confessed satanist. But if you listen to her lyrics she was in fact always advocating very strong moral principles. As for the minister's daughters and sunday school camps your imagination beats mine.

In case you wonder, the phrase “crimson and clover” has no real meaning it just sounds good. Especially over and over ...

Great music the same. Of course the immortal is “I love Rock and Roll”. Her recording of “Little Drummer Boy” is one of my very favourite songs. It just feels incredibly sincere.

Let me rather be quiet just now you guess my age. Thanks for the comment Beatle! Always kind!

hmm well, i don't know about the age thing, since i'm 15, yet i feel that i should have either been born in 1895 or 1951!! due to my tastes in music and films. this musician sounds really cool, i'll look her up soon.

When I walk through that door
Baby be polite
You're gonna make me sore
If you don't greet me right

Don't you ever kiss me once, kiss me twice
Treat me nice

I know that you've been told
It's not fair to tease
So if you come on cold
I'm really gonna freeze

If you don't want me to be cold as ice
Treat me nice

Make me feel at home
If you really care
Scratch my back and run your pretty
Fingers through my hair

Treat me nice
Don't you ever kiss me once, kiss me twice

“take the ribbon from your hair
shake it loose and let it fall
lying lightly on my skin
like the shadows on the wall
come and lie down by my side
'till the early morning light
all i'm asking is your time
help me make it through the night

“i don't care what’s right what's wrong
i don't care to understand
'till the sunlight of tomorrow
lord tonight i need her so
yesterday is dead and gone
tomorrow's out of sight
lord it's sad to be alone
help me make it through the night

Please don't ask me what's on my mind
I'm a little mixed up but I'm feeling fine
When I'm near the girl, that I love best
My heart beats so it scares me to death

My hands are shaking and my knees are weak
I can't seem to stand on my own two feet
Who do you thank when you have such luck?
I'm in love, I'm all shook up

My tongue gets tied when I try to speak
My insides shake like a leaf on a tree
There's only one cure for this body of mine
That's to have that girl that I love so fine!

I'm in love, I'm all shook up!

Love, is a burning thing
And it makes, a fiery ring
Bound, by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire

I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down, and the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns, the ring of fire
The ring of fire

The taste, of love is sweet
When hearts, like ours meet
I fell for you like a child
Oh, but the fire went wild

I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down, and the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns, the ring of fire
The ring of fire

And it burns, burns, burns, the ring of fire
The ring of fire
