Absolute truth

Do not assume the facts of naked eyes
the copy of objects that we construct
that is recast in some obscure disguise
a spoiled image your wits can not perfect.
No matter what, your word will not suffice
to sway the other one who will reject
your most avowed insights as simple lies
however strongly you suppose correct.
So stands the essence of absolute truth:
Although one object our eyes may attract
we see diversely with unsound senses.
And this confirms a thought beyond mistrust:
The guise of fact that lies behind an act
will do to foreshore our vain pretences.
