Infront of every song.
My country is still racist, even though we have a Black president.

Hi Pinda. Like the idea of this however the degree of racism you might meet in the UK still sadly depends on where you go and who you meet.
My perception of the US is that it has been behind the blackest backwater during the bush years (I can't even bring myself to capitalise his surname any longer - yuk!) whilst he and that dick lined their pockets at the expense of our planet and our hard fought for liberties - and the lives of many, but hopefully there is a new tide over there and Barak WILL be the man as long as he doesn't get taken out. I hope so, for all of us and particularly for anyone unfortunate enough to be discriminated against because of the colour of their skin.

I would like to think you're right about us. Sadly, the British National Party have just managed to get themselves two people elected to the European Parliament, and I can't see us having a black Prime Minister any time soon. I think it's true racism was always more institutionalised in the US. We never had the equivalent of the Klan, for example - possibly because even the most racist Brit could never take anyone in a white sheet and a wizard's hat seriously. It is a different sensibility. But it can be bloody vicious.

Having lived in Westchester County, NY, I do think we have a different attitude to racism over here. But it still exists. Sadly, in a recession, parties like the BNP always garner more support.I would like to think that Obama can make a difference given a bit of time. We all want him to:)

Honestly I've never been to Britain however,from the sports I watch.England football etc,movies.I thought the racism would have declined.I know for a fact America will always be racist.Bush has left a unforgiving scar on the people.

Oh, Jupiter, how could you be so mean to the BNP?? We all know they're just patriotic volk, I mean folk, who want to protect us all from too much immigration, and think voluntary repatriation is a really good idea...
There is actually an organisation called American Friends of the BNP, a fund raising body with links to far right US groups.
So, Pinda, if you have a few dollars to spare...!
