Why can’t we often shout enough is enough?
When it seems so irrational to say yes.
But when the truth is hidden,
one must surely be ready to express.
My concerns are simple and
should not be misconstrued,
that everyone should be treated
the same, without being rude.
But something inside me
Nags me just the same.
that my opinion should in fact
cause distress and seen to inflame
I have to say
that my current dilemma
Is woman related and
an outdated dogma.
I value the truth
and no one should deny,
that the rights of women
Should not merely be an outcry.
The plight of the women in eastern domains
remains cruely true in our modern day.
Torture and stoning are barbaric acts,
No matter how justifiable the clerics do say.

i dont think that you've understood.....our concern should not be only an outcry but rather that something more should be done to help women in their plight. They should not be tortured but rather looked after!

Yes but by writing the poem you have cried out I think on others behalf, isn't that true? I can't do much more than keeping up with the debate in the media. I feel so insufficient :(

man, women, race creed colour... We're all human we're all equal with equal rights at least that's how it should be. We humans are our own worst enemy.
A good poem making a valid point about sickening behaviour but you don't have to go so far to witness it. Women are used and abused in this country as well.

I think that's part of the problem; we're too reliant on the whims of the media; if we were all more involved then these things wouldn't be tolerated. - just an opinion.
But you highlighted the problem well in your poem.
