The Birthday Kiss
Outside the birds sing cheerfully,
twirling in gleeful bliss.
While the great oak tree bows up and down,
I give you your birthday kiss.
Your gracious smile, brimming bright laugh,
keep you youthful as can be.
Life's trials and tribunes mark the course -
your faith will set you free.
Greener pastures, past and future,
do knock on memory's door.
God gave us this precious moment
to celebrate once more.
We celebrate for peace on earth,
for the love between you and me.
We celebrate your birth today,
as we prepare for eternity.
