The Lonely night

In the village he grew up in
No one remembers his name
As he walks through places
That are engraved in his skin

Along the grass littered with trash
On a hill he calls his home
Lies windows broken with stone
Thrown by the power of hate

As he enters the stale air stings
Not only his lungs but his heart
And upon his walls a song
Of resentment and vexation

Alone he spends the night
Upon his naked virgin bed
Under the light of his mobile phone
As his fears stay hiding in the dark

His family long gone from this world
Burdened to stay alone he cries
Alone his hands comfort each other
If only they could comfort his soul

Then the sun shines through the night
As dawn brings a new day to all
But for him, he relives that one day
When he was first left alone

These lines are superb and haunting:

'Lies windows broken with stone
Thrown by the power of hate'

Good write!
