Alight Then Flight

Magpies shuffle feathers
in a contrast of white on black
as spreading wings capture
each puff of wind

your reputation a forager but
I know better you bag of
ruffled wings
and flavour of boasting within this
forest

snacker or
attention-seeker unable
to decide which is the greater choice
as you continue to alight
then flight
a decision unanswered.
