Hold me in the colour of your arms:
red for the love in each heartbeat
calico for autumn wishes
blue in the way I feel
and Green the flavour I seek--
grass planted at my feet
leaves for winds blowing softly,
envy cast my way.
You are always a part of me,
soul mate—my inspiration---my love.
And then
placing an arm upon his wrist
eyes focus on her man, he’s
resting now oblivious to surroundings
on the path of dementia’s whisper
yet love abounds from a basket of memories,
limbs no longer respond, sluggish in his
world, and peace abides as
tears add to her knowing heart.

Hello Richard,
Another simply beautiful written poem.
Jenny.

Thank you Jenny. Writing about the simplicity of life is a demanding task; to get the right word or phrase. And not to demean any difficult issues, since they are reality and must be addressed. Keep writing---from the heart. Richard LP
