Bless the Children

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

Play in your snow fort
sword twirler, hand active
with snowball toss
readying for a frontal assault

dreaming of being a knight
as you charge across
the parking lot.

Grandpa had dreams too
as he tumbled through a busy
life, now he’s in a nursing home
not so far away--

memories bringing peace
from days long ago.

Yeah a lot of time passes in old age just remembering. A nice way to pass the time methinks.
Good one Richard.
atb to you and Esther. have just read a lot about Canada's history and some territorial information. Was very interesting!! I thought I had to know something about this huge and beautiful country and it's people. Thank you for getting me interested by your stories and poems.

Hi Richard,

I'm in absolute agreement with Pia. I think of
anywhere else in the world I would love to live,
other than where I do now, it would have to be
Canada, especially up near the mountains, it seems
amazing.

Your poem brought back memories of cowboys and Indians, playing around in what was our back lane.

I bet your Grandad could remember a lot about his
childhood, for it seems as you get older, you do
remember the past, more than the present. Bet he
could tell some amazing stories.

Thanks for a great read.

Jenny.

Thank you, Pia, so much. In my writing, I do wish to share a momento of our land. I had the pleasure of visiting most provinces, except Newfoundland for now. It is such a huge country, ie Ontario is 1,500 miles wide and 1,000 miles from south to north. Imagine. All the best, Richard and Esther.

And thank you, Jenny. In this day and age with Alzheimer's and other such debilitating sicknesses, memories are more precious than gold. And each of us has so much to share with others. Cheers, from Richard and Esther.
