A BOY AND HIS DOG - poem

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 2

There’s a liking for the
chase, young fellow
and your dog knows the difference
between love and just a friend

you’re his master
and he’ll follow you
even into salty swells
of incoming tide
as you wade Atlantic-strides
along the shore.

Never let him down,
boy.

Fond memories of my childhood include having Prince, my precious dog. I was only eight years old and I remember every bark and run as he chased his pal. RLP

Thank you, Cavalcaderl. Yes, children and dogs are a good mix. My favourite animal was a pussycat. Richard LP
