October winds morph Fundy
Bay into a matrix of
rocking currents, a tumult
galloping in from the
north-west
scraping greedily
at rocky cliffs,
uncovering scraps of memory
birthed by evolutionary
causes
where creature fossils
are available in
archeological digs
captured within the shale
of Nova Scotia
their prehistoric prints
imbedded in a pot-pourri
of ancient mud.

"At one time," scientists say, "Nova Scotia was a land of vegetation, where pre-historic animals and fish roamed." To date, fossils have been discovered, dating back millions of years, and attract folks from all over the world. This little town of Joggins, is now declared a "protected area" in order to preserve the past. RLP
