To Die is Gain

Hope came upon me
as a light bulb in a storm
its glow not a warning, but
an omen of yet to come

I knew within my heart
truth and prosperity would
soon alight within me;
try as I might, the vision left
even though I did pursue.

At the cliff I wrote a song:
to live is to grow
knowledge can be achieved
life is but a mirror
and to die for right is gain.
