FISHERMAN'S SON poem

from the ABC set POETRY - A Passage of Motion 1

Fisherman’s Son

Moonbeam flashlight
covers the

little boy and his
dog, Sandy.

Sitting on
papa’s dory this time
of night is neat

one day he’ll fish
for cod too.

Sky is darker than a
wet blanket, an
owl’s hoot
coyotes singing.

“Sleepy time!”
is mama’s thunder

and feet explode
on the dock.

“Coming!”

Hello Beeme, thank you. As I gain space with my footprints, and age transcends this being, my return to an earlier day brings such brittle moments to my mind. They evaporate so quickly, yet the glimpse is worth the wait. Cheerios. Richard LP
