I Want
to be a child
with good parents
holding me
tight
preparing lunch
when I have needs
taking me places
where growth
of mind and spirit
satisfies an
inquiring soul
buying me clothes
to show off
the DNA you
have inside me
and protection
from nasty women
and strange men
as I get older.
Then when I
become an adult
there will be many
lessons to
share from what
I learned
especially how
to make peanut butter
and banana-sliced
sandwiches.
